//Do you have any regrets?

I don’t believe in regret because I don’t think you can ever know how things would have really gone I’d you made another choice. We tend to imagine that if we hadn’t made that mistake, life would have been perfect, but that’s not true. We can’t see what would have happened… another thing could have gone “wrong,” another worse mistake.

That’s not to say I’ve never made a mistake or done anything that I would perhaps have been better off not doing. I just think everything I’ve been through, both good and bad, has contributed to making me the person who I am today. And who knows for sure it would have turned out better down another path?

I lived for years, decades even, with regret(s). Only in recent months have I begun to learn to forgive myself for the mistakes of the past. Forgiveness has brought me some much needed closure which has been very liberating.

The epiphany was that time doesn’t heal all wounds… we do.
